DirtChurch 2021 - The Resurrection
ABOUT THE SERIES
Join us for Southern California’s most anticipated adventure series on Sunday’s this fall. In collaboration with Velotown and Queenstage Coffee, the 3rd season of #DirtChurch will bring more dirt, new routes, coffee, beer, burgers and a new host venue in Leucadia, CA.
These events are intended to bring our San Diego cycling community together, enjoy great gravel routes and support local business.
Event Details
DirtChurch rides will occur on the four Sundays following Labor Day including 9/12, 9/19, 9/26 and 10/3. Each Sunday will feature a new gravel route with water stops marked. In case of heavy rain, rides will either be canceled or routes adjusted to avoid any compromised dirt sections.
Rides will start and end at Velotown in Leucadia, CA where we have launched our very first Gravelstoke pop-up retail wall inside. Riders can join us at 7AM for coffee at Queenstage, and hang post-ride at Hamburger Hut for local craft beers and food.
The ride starts at 8:30AM and we anticipate arriving back at Velotown between 11:00AM and Noon. Routes will be posted on our event calendar pages and on Facebook.
Recommended EQUIPMENT
With a diversity of road and dirt surfaces the optimal bike for DirtChurch is a gravel or cross bike with tires at least 35mm in width. Tubeless tires are highly recommended. Please ride completely self sufficient with a hand pump, CO2 cartridges, extra tubes and other appropriate trailside repair gear.
SELF-SUPPORTED
This is a self-supported ride, with no SAG wagon or official aid stations. Routes are not marked and you are 100% responsible for yourself, your mechanicals, your food/water resupplies, and your retrieval off route (in case of emergency).
TRAIL ETIQUETTE
Please help us keep our trails safe and enjoyable for all. Whenever passing hikers, equestrians or other riders be prepared to slow down, say hi and pass in a safe and friendly manner. Always stay on designated trails and never ride dirt in wet or muddy conditions. Find more information on trail etiquette here.
