Join us as we preview Southern California’s most anticipated adventure series and celebrate the grand opening of Lost Cyclery with a proper kick-off ride. The inaugural #dirtchurch gravel rides, a collaboration between The Lost Abbey and Gravelstoke, took place in Sept 2018 and we’ve been asked about its return ever since. With our friend Tim opening up his service-focused bike shop this week, and the fall quickly approaching, we thought this would be the perfect time to preview #dirtchurch II. Look for more dirt, multiple route options, free coffee and a brand new venue for 2019, all previewed this Sunday.
THE ROUTES
We have three gravel routes of various difficulties and one road route planned. At least one water stop will be marked on each Ride With GPS route. The three gravel routes are posted below, with dirt sections marked in blue. Road route TBD.
Routes are subject to change until 24h in advance of the event.View All Routes
LOCATION
The ride will start and end at Lost Cyclery HQ, located within The Lost Abbey San Marcos.
Coffee and restrooms will be available at 7:30AM on Sunday Aug 4, followed by three waves starting at 8AM. We anticipate arriving back at the brewery on or after 12PM Noon.
FESTIVITIES
Join us after the ride at The Lost Abbey for beers and snacks, and tour the brand new Lost Cyclery studio. We will also be joined by our friends from Thesis Bike, who will have a couple of their gravel bikes on display before and after the ride.
SWAG
We are offering 20% off all Gravelstoke goods including water bottles and socks, use code GETLOST at checkout and select local pickup to collect your gear on Sunday.
Gravel Routes - With a diversity of road and dirt surfaces the optimal bike for the #dirtchurch Preview is a gravel or cross bike with tires at least 35mm in width. Tubeless tires are highly recommended. Please ride completely self sufficient with a hand pump, CO2 cartridges, extra tubes and other appropriate trailside repair gear.
SELF-SUPPORTED
This is a self-supported ride, with no SAG wagon or official aid stations. We will mark water stops along the routes. You are 100% responsible for yourself, your mechanicals, your food/water resupplies, and your retrieval off route (in case of emergency).
