Old Fort NC Gravel Route & Kitsbow Ride House
For those unfamiliar, Kitsbow is a small cycling apparel brand located in Old Fort, NC with an eye towards quality, sustainability and fit. We hope to try out some Kitsbow gear soon as some of their products like the Chutes Longsleeve Tee and Mescal Ventilated Short look pretty sweet.
Apparently Old Fort has some pretty good gravel roads too, located just 25 miles east of Asheville, another solid riding destination. Kitsbow is doing its part to grow the region into a cycling destination by partnering with organizations like the U.S. Forest Service, the G5 Trail Collective, Friends of the Fonta Flora State Trail, and People on the Move for Old Fort to add over 40 miles of new mountain bike trails.
If you do visit be sure to check out the Old Fort Ride House, a retail cafe/bike repair shop operated by Kitsbow that just reopened its doors. Even better news is that you could win a trip for two to Old Fort and ride the Pisgah National Forest. You can learn more and enter the contest here. Also check out our featured Old Fort gravel route, the Curtis Creek Loop below.
