In 2017, Rodeo Labs captivated the gravel world with the Flaanimal Steel series, an adaptable, go-anywhere platform designed to evolve with its rider. Four years later, the Flaanimal Titanium built on that legacy, a stunning debut that not only performed across a spectrum of terrain and disciplines but also left its mark with a Tour Divide win in 2021. Now, Rodeo Labs raises the bar once again with the much-anticipated Flaanimal Titanium 6.0, an iteration that redefines what it means to be a multi-category bike while celebrating craftsmanship and innovation in titanium.

But why update a bike that already seemed to do it all? Rodeo tells us that the evolution of the Flaanimal 6 Ti was fueled by the desire to push metal further, to craft a machine that not only performed flawlessly but stood out in beauty and design. The result? A titanium bicycle that defies comparison, yet distinctly Rodeo.

Titanium dreams

Rodeo isn’t promising it’s aero, but if it happens to look fast, they’re fine with that. The Flaanimal 6 Ti’s custom profiled top tube tapers smoothly as it converges with the seat tube, then flows into shaped seat stays. The frame was crafted using 3D printing, expert welding, and hand finishing. The new hourglass-shaped EC44 head tube was CNC machined, housing 44mm press-in headset cups with integrated cable routing that blends form and function.

Beyond Gravel

The bottom bracket was no afterthought either. Featuring The Keg, a CNC-machined titanium T47 shell, this BB is all about making space for internal routing without disrupting the crankset spindle. And with the chainstay's No-Yoke design – a result of careful tube shaping, 3D printing, and hand finishing – the Flaanimal 6 Ti achieves an understated elegance that lets the bike’s performance do the talking.

For those who crave flexibility, the Flaanimal Titanium 6.0 introduces the refined Lock Jaw 2 slider system. Always improving on their sliders and listening to customers, Rodeo Labs has fully committed to UDH with native compatibility, while standard hangers and single-speed setups are also possible. The slider boasts 30mm of slider range for additional customization.

The Flaanimal 6 Ti offers three cable routing configurations – fully integrated, semi-integrated, or traditional internal routing. And with impressive tire clearance for 700x2.1” or 650x2.4” tires, all without the need for wide cranksets, this bike is primed for any adventure.

6.0 + 3.3

Adding to its adventure-ready resume, the Flaanimal 6 Ti features dedicated dynamo ports, making it simple to run a dynamo wire inside the frame for seamless front and rear light integration. Paired with the Spork 3.3 fork, itself equipped with dynamo routing ports, the Flaanimal 6 Ti is perfectly equipped for off-grid excursions and bikepacking missions.

In a new move from Rodeo, they have decided to offer two geometry options: Standard and Extended. Standard geometry mirrors the earlier Flaanimal’s road and gravel-friendly setup, while the Extended geometry adds a 20mm taller head tube and a one-degree slacker head tube angle, designed with ultra-endurance touring in mind.

The Flaanimal's Next Chapter

Made in Taiwan, the Flaanimal 6 Ti frameset begins at $3500 with standard media-blasted logos, and is available in sizes 61, 58, 56, 54, 52, and 49cm. Also available in the configuration tool are special Launch Edition and Jolly Green Giant colorways for an extra $1000, along with standard Cerakote offerings for an extra cost.

With the Flaanimal Titanium 6.0, Rodeo Labs has shows no sign of stopping their march towards the ultimate gravel machine, and it’s great to see their first titanium bike that’s been designed from the ground up. Flaanimal 6 Titanium is now open for pre-orders, and Rodeo expects to begin deliveries late February 2025.
