Hunt of the North - A Gravelstoke Adventure
Back for 2019 we’re bringing back the gravel event that is like none other. The 2nd annual Hunt of the North is planned for June 9, 2019.
Our mission is to create an event that combines our favorite elements of gravel cycling into one memorable experience. Exploration, camaraderie and some of the best dirt San Diego has to offer. A gravel hunt that takes participants to 5 predetermined locations on dirt throughout the North.
Riders will be challenged to gather all 5 pieces of uniquely colored gravel, 1 at each location. Locations will be revealed 24 hours in advance of the event. Hunters are encouraged to go in teams of 2 or more and take the route of their choosing. For those that collect all 5 pieces, 1 raffle ticket is awarded.

Routes: Although we encourage riders to create their own route, we realize some participants may not be familiar with our roads and trails. We will again be offering three optional routes of various difficulties, as well as optional group rides for each of those routes. Routes and GPS files will be sent to registered participants.
Gear: We recommend a cross or gravel bike with compact road gearing and at least 32mm tires. A mountain bike that's a solid climber will work, but a gravel bike is best. Please bring at least two tubes.
Pre-Ride: There will be coffee available starting at 6:45 AM on ride morning. Hunting begins at 8AM.
Post-Ride Festivities: Riders are encouraged to return by 1pm for tacos and beer at our outdoor beer garden, included with every entry (21 and over)! We'll also be holding the world famous Hunt of the North Raffle with some seriously dope prizes!
