2023 Shakeout in the Hills
- San Elijo Hills Fountain 1256 San Elijo Road North San Marcos, CA, 92078 United States (map)
Just ahead of the 12th annual BWR CA, we invite friends and visiting guests to join us for the Shakeout in the Hills. With many riders arriving early, and local friends eager to connect, we’ve created a short shake-out gravel ride just ahead of the weekend festivities. The 13-mile route starts in San Elijo Hills, a local trail hub in San Marcos, CA. The short course includes some of our favorite local gravel and singletrack that you won't see on Sunday, along with one 2-mile gravel section that is on the BWR.
This ride rolls out from the San Elijo Hills fountain at 6pm. This will be an easy-paced ride for all abilities, but please download the route if you can. Some of the singletrack sections are a bit technical, so we'll regroup after those segments. Also, please bring a tail-light and headlight as visibility will be lower towards the end of the ride with the sunset scheduled for around 7:30PM. Opportunity to connect post-ride at the Lost Abbey Sanctuary, just adjacent to the Fountain in San Elijo Hills. Free parking is available on the local streets or in the Albertsons parking lot.
Schedule
