I really do appreciate the apparel that comes out of the labs at Velocio. The design is in the details rather than the print itself. So much so that it’s difficult to appreciate the quality and choice of fabrics unless you hold it in your hands and try it for yourself. Signature, Concept, Micromodal, Delta, Trail. All words I’ve come to associate with Velocio after giving these collections a first look and have come back to them ride after ride.
This just in, Velocio has a few new pieces for Fall / Winter 2022. Here we highlight our top 3 looks for the autumn season ahead.
The Obligatory Phone in Cargo Pocket Marketing Photo
After spending a few good days with the new Velocio Utility Bib Shorts, I’ve come to greatly appreciate just how well they look and function. A simple upgrade from Velocio’s Ultralight Bib, the Utility Bib’s two lightweight pockets make all the difference. Currently only available in black, Velocio’s version of the cargo bib costs $299 and is available for both men’s and women’s styles. Paired with a set of knee warmers and this setup should keep you happy in temps 40° F and up.
Do Front Pouches Work?
Just unveiled last month, the new Trail Anorak may be Velocio’s coolest jacket yet. I love what this brand does with the Trail Collection overall, with cuts that are in that sweet spot between tight and loose. These pieces are often all I wear on top for most rides out my front door. The new Anorak is a curious departure from the full-zip jacket we’re used to, but looks extremely versatile at the same time. I could see myself using this hardshell as much for hiking, skiing, or a quick run to the coffee shop on Monday morning as I would for bikepacking or an unpredictable gravel adventure. Cycling jackets should be simple, versatile, lightweight, and effective. The Velocio Amarak seemingly does all 4 and with style. Available in this popping Fire Red or a more classic Navy for a steep $449 in both men’s and women’s. How well does it pack down? I may have to find out…
Merino is Modern
Merino was once the material for pros until they were required to print sponsor logos on their chest. Velocio has done a great job with merino wool in pieces that look modern and feel amazing. The Concept Merino Long Sleeve combines their best jersey pattern with ultra fine merino wool to create versatile long sleeve that would pair perfectly with a base layer and lightweight jacket to make the ultimate cold weather combo. If you’re looking for a top that will make you want to go riding when it’s chilly outside, look no further than the Concept Merino LS available for $219 in men’s and women’s. Sorry guys, the ladies get all the fun colors for this one.
