Happier Bar Bags with the Restrap Bumper Bar

Announced today, the new Bumper Bar from UK-based Restrap is a unique accessory designed to keep bags that are mounted to handlebars more upright. If you’ve ever run a larger handlebar bag you know how they tend to sag down towards the head tube, or bob around on rough terrain. The Bumper Bar aims to solve that with a hard mounting point that’s attached directly to the steerer tube, taking the place of a 3mm headset spacer.

Restrap tells us that the Bumper Bar is ideal for smaller bikes with a low stack height or where handlebar to tire clearance is limited. Made from CR4 Steel with a durable powder coated finish, the Bumper Bar includes a front grille and 30mm slots on the top and bottom that work with the retention straps of Restrap bar bags. It also includes 5mm diameter holes on the top and bottom for additional mounting options. The front is curved to allow the fitting of most lights. The Bumper Bar fits all 1 1/8th” steerers, weighs 178 grams, and retails for $60 USD.
