SBT GRVL has canceled the 2020 event due to COVID-19 concerns. Based on guidelines from the CDC, the federal, state, and county governments, and after discussions with local authorities in Steamboat Springs, the SBT GRVL team determined the safest scenario for the community will be to cancel the event this year.

Colorado Gives Back @ Red Rocks

The Lumineers are teaming up with fellow Colorado musicians, professional athletes, chefs, and government officials for #ColoradoGivesBack, a live-stream event to benefit individuals in Colorado and national live music community as well as those in the Colorado restaurant/service industry who have lost work due to COVID-19. SAS X Mosaic Cycles Custom Gravel Bike

These bikes were the end result of a collaboration among Search and State, Mosaic Cycles, and Black Oak Velo. The bikes are slated to be shown at the National Handmade Bike Show in Dallas this year. Search and State focused on the paint scheme and the design aesthetics of the bike, while Mosaic did the frame and custom parts, and Black Oak Velo in Old Greenwhich, Connecticut completed the bike-build and handled all components and trims. We did the SAS bike in a custom desert camo and the Black Oak Velo bike in their shop colors. The paired bikes were painted by Spectrum Paint and Powder in Boulder, Colorado.

5 Adventure Cycling Podcasts For Your Quarantine Listening Pleasure

We’re big fans of gravel and adventure cycling podcasts here and gathered up a few that have recently been released in this new world of social distancing and home isolation. We hope you are all safe and doing well wherever you may be. Here in California the restrictions have only increased. Originally on March 19, the governor gave a shelter in place order, requesting that all citizens stay at home with the exception of any essential activities. While the order was mostly followed, here in North County San Diego people continue to go outside and enjoy the local parks, trails and beaches. Unfortunately social distancing can be difficult on our narrow trails, sidewalks and beach breaks, forcing the county to and local governments to further restrict access by temporarily closing these public areas starting March 23 to help slow the spread of the virus that causes the COVID-19 disease. Kerkove Finishes First at 2020 Stagecoach 400

Jeff Kerkove of Team Topeak-Ergon took 1st place at the 2020 Stagecoach 400, a multi-day Southern California bikepacking adventure race that was organized by Brendan Collier and Meg Knobel. Starting from Idyllwild CA, Kerkove took an early lead on Friday, March 14 and stayed out front for the entire course only stopping for food and gear adjustments.

As the 2020 Stagecoach 400 rolled out of Idyllwild, CA this morning the rain had subsided for the 50 or so riders starting the Southern California bikepacking race. But while the air may have been dry at 8AM on Friday, March 13, the trails had little time to recover from the storm that came through for a few days before. The race organizers were told just hours before that some dirt sections were off-limits, forcing them to ask riders to ignore the previously supplied GPS route in some sections.
