Celebrating America with some coastal gravel
Join us for a special holiday gravel ride on July 4, 2024 in Cardiff by the Sea, California. Route is 36 miles split evenly between road, bike path, and dirt, while staying relatively close to the coast for some cooler temps.
Ride rolls at 7:30AM from The Lost Abbey Confessional in Cardiff before heading south along the coast to Del Mar, then heads east into Gonzalez Canyon. After a fun section of dirt, including the new bridge installed near Torrey Highlands Dog Park by SDMBA, we will connect to Penasquitos Canyon for some premium single and double track. The route will then connect to UCSD via bike path for additional shredding before we hit some new secret gravel in the biotech corridor. We’ll finish with a ride back up the coast and the first time we we ride the new North Coast Trail along the 5 back to Cardiff. Meet at 7:15AM from the Seaside Market courtyard next to Sambazan with all your self-supported essentials. Hang post-ride at the Confessional for drinks and pizza.
Water at mile 9, Bodega at mile 20.
