New Frame, Same Brilliant Cord: Ombraz Cammina

We first posted a long-term review of Ombraz Armless Sunglasses last year after a testing the Leggero model with a tortoise frame and grey polarized lenses for over a year. I was so impressed with the overall design that I even ordered the Blue Blocking Teton model for the office. Since then, Ombraz has continued to innovate with the all-new Cammina model. The Cammina is Ombraz latest frame in its armless collection, with a slender look and vintage vibes.

The Cammina is Ombraz first frame that is made fully in Italy. According to Ombraz, the frame’s contours complement round, square, and narrow face shapes, and they look fantastic on both men and women and men.

If you’re not yet familiar with the concept of armless sunglasses, it’s something you have to experience to fully appreciate. The built-in cord prevents Ombraz from falling off or slipping down your nose, they are simple to adjust, and are hard to lose since they store easily around your neck. No arms also means there is less to break and they pack flat in a Top Tube Bag, pocket, or other gear. To give the new Cammina a proper testing we sent a pair to our good friend and Gravelstoke rider Adam Cooke, who was happy to share with us his impressions of the new frame.

I actually had bought a pair a year ago with one of the Gravelstoke promos and I love them, so the Cammina you sent was my second paid. Love them! Literally the only sunglasses I never lose because I can hang them around my neck. Use them almost every day. Light, easy, super comfy.  For cycling specifically I do not use them because I found they let a bit too much back light in for me since they are pretty flat but for general use they have been great and I have tried to let as many people try them as possible. It is impressive how slack the band can be and they stay in position without fail. So yes, love them, just not for cycling personally. -Adam Cooke

Like all Ombraz frames, it features world-class, scratch-resistant, and oleophobic Zeiss optics and a Japanese-woven, 100% recycled, marine-grade cord. The Cammina is available in Narrow and Regular.

Ombraz now comes in 6 styles including Classic, Dolomite, Leggero, Cammina, Viale, and Teton. They all look great and you shouldn’t have a hard time finding a frame that fits your style. Ombraz models with polarized lenses go for $160, and $145 for non-polarized.
